Ahoy there Sailors!
In our Quest to explore & refine new events to present to you all at the Yacht Club, Admiral Bridget Jennings & myself sailed the calm waters of the canals of Antiquity yesterday.
We dusted off our Flying Tako Sail Boats, and departed from the AYC, and headed towards the Northern sims.
The canals provided a different kind of sailing experience.
The waters were calm, and the wind was difficult to catch in some places, but this was such a marvellous way to view our Antiquity!
On several occassions, the Admiral had to wait for me to catch up, and would call out, asking if everything was ok.
Everything was fine on my vessel, but I felt compelled to slow down, in order to savour the experience. The homes & gardens, and indeed the water ways themselves, are a feast for the senses.
The Admiral & I finished up our tour of the canals, and sailed over to the Tea at the Keys. Crumpets & tea was enjoyed, and it was most interesting hearing from the guest speaker, Ms Sabre Valentine.
Afterwards, the Admiral & I got back into our Takos, and headed South.
We caught some fabulous winds along the way, and picked up some speed too. We tacked southward and marvelled at the change in scenery.
Aqua seas, coral reefs, tropical vegetation, and a marvellous atmosphere added to our sailing fun in the wide, open seas.
We felt rejuvinated & inspired by the waters of Antiquity, and hope to bring you a Sailing Ship Race Event at the Yacht Club very soon.
