I am afraid I share Her Grace's brown thumb. My Mama has commented on more than one occasion that I could kill an artificial plant. But I'd like to hear what is said here!
For those who love to work the soil or sand of Antiquity, beautifying our unique land, or for those who just enjoy the calming aesthetics that our collective landscaping invokes. You are invited to share your stories, tips & ideas with us.
Thank you so much for posting the event pictures from last Saturday;s mer ballet (I was traveling and did not get to see this wonderful performance live).
O dear, I just read that some of the Tortuga and Oceania residents are in fact Pirates. :-O I live in those sims and have never seen them! Do I need to buy cannons and protect myself from those scallywags?
Cathryn Tendaze (nee Beaumont) resides in the northwest corner of Antiquity Harbor with her husband Lord Sion Tendaze, airship designer and owner of Antiquity Gas and Balloon; their two bunnies, BabyGrey and BlackBunny; and her sweet little Chihuahua puppy, Honey, at "LoveLivesHere", their lovely Victorian home designed by Fatima Ur. In September '07, while still Miss Beaumont, Lady Cathryn attended a Ball at the Grand Ballroom in the Township and fell in love with Antiquity and her people. She returned the very next day to buy land and set up a home in the Harbor. Lord Sion followed her to Antiquity shortly after thereafter and the two were affianced in November of '07. Also in November of '07, Her Grace, Angel Magellan, the Grand Duchess of Antiquity, conferred upon Lady Cathryn the title of Baroness.
On February 9 of '08, His Grace, Gregg Barrymore, the Grand Duke of Antiquity, officiated at the marriage ceremony of Lord Sion Tendaze to the Baroness on a steam-powered wedding platform built by Lord Sion and placed high above Antiquity Cove. The Baroness was brought to be married by the Grand Duchess, and attended by her dear friend, Duchess Zoriada Rossini. Baron Skylark Bedrosian served as best man.
In June of '08, the Grand Duchess named Lady Cathryn as one of her ladies-in-waiting. In addition to having taken over such services for the Grand Duchess as the weekly washing of the Tortuga rats to help keep down the spread of disease--as a lady never shirks an unpleasant but necessary duty--Lady Cathryn keeps the Antiquity Social Calendar, and is responsible for sending out weekly notices of Antiquity events to residents and friends.
As a well-known reformer and pacifist, Lady Cathryn works to persuade her neighbors from the southern sims of Tortuga and Oceania to give up their piratical ways and become good upstanding sons and daughters of Antiquity. So far, her efforts have been largely unsuccessful, but she carries on undaunted by the Herculean task ahead of her.
When the area's children are in residence, Lady Cathryn, known to them as "Auntie Cathryn", serves as nanny to ensure they behave as proper little ladies and gentlemen and not as heathenish "neighbors to the south".
Lady Cathryn is a sometimes unwilling contributor to The Antiquity Gazette where excerpts from her diary are published through the devious devices of her dear cousin Duchess SadieRose Beaumont and her dear friend Baroness Hope Coakes who make their way by stealth into Lady Cathryn's home and ferret out the diary's hiding place so that they may publish entries from it on otherwise slow news days.
