In any case, the whole idea behind open source is having a contributing coding community which is obviously lacking here at the moment, so this is by no means on the agenda for now.
Furthermore, I ...
Thank you for your Reply.
I agree that SPD-J is simple, and that spellfire, among others, does display a lot of "pointless" information as those features are usually not used (some do use them thou...
First, thank you all for you great feedback :).
Bert, I like the idea about injuries slowing you down. This should be easy to implement with the stamina feature. I will definitely look in to it an...
RP should always come first in my book. My only comment about the use of a meter, is if you are going to use one... it might as well be a good one. Anything I come up with will be an attempt to support RP, not replace it. In some instances, it's j...
Huzzah Slam! I like this. I spent the last 5 days in a ROLEPLAY sim where they do have a meter but emphasize the ROLEPLAY so much that if one did not make a typed posting on there actions then the roleplay scene is called invalid. I managed to hun...
Slam it is really nice to see you back, I trust all is well with you?
To be honest I am of the same school of thinking as Slam, most things have been tried beforehand, we still return to SPD.
There was a skirmish in Finlanda fort last week; it w...
I hear you, but this is nothing that hasn't already been proposed, hashed over and re-proposed for over 2 years now. Ultimately what it comes down to is that good Role Play is not meter dependant...it's up to the player to play within the rules pr...
Hi Pam, referring to your statement:
"Personally I am more than willing to try any new combat system, I would love to be able to use a sword on a cavalry horse instead of muskets."
I can tell you that I regularly do use a SPD-J-sword on my caval...
I understand the reason for going the open source route. It just isn't appropriate for every type of project.
It is true, Antiquity is a hard sell for a new system. I am developing my system for a larger audience, but compatible with Antiquity's ...
SPD has been in Anty for so long it is well know, easy to use. SPD ships will never go away; you only have to look at the resistance to the new SPD ships.
So I am on Britannica wearing one of BBs or SSs brand new meters. Firing SPD cannons at ship...
In any case, the whole idea behind open source is having a contributing coding community which is obviously lacking here at the moment, so this is by no means on the agenda for now.
Furthermore, I do not see Antiquity easily excepting any kind of ...
Bertram, I will note here, we do not DIE in Antyquity combat we have it worded as FALLEN or DOWN. We left that described in the new ROE for the explicit purpose of having the chance to roleplay the aftermath of combat.
Unfortunately we still have...
Aye I was playing with a meter the other day where I got some unrecoverable damage from falling in the water too many times and had to go see the doctor. The healing option in the meter requried only someone that had that role assigned to them thr...
I second the good points the Sea Baron Bertram has made on slowing down when hit, the doctors and nurses as wel as the a capture option adds more fun to roleplaying.
Indeed noone likes to many notecards to read with a load of explains and rules.

My God, My God, I pray that these things never end,
The sand and the sea,
The rustle of the waters,
Lightning of the Heavens,
The prayer of Man.

A wonderful mermaid by the name of Tira Bigboots who first introduced me to the Antiquity community.
It was the many friendly people that made me stay :)
Tell us a little about your SL self?
In one word: Everchanging :)
In several words: Enjoying everything that SL has to offer (lag and drama included lol).
