It has been months since I overtook the Merchant vessel from the East India Trading company. The vessel has served me well and taken me to distant cities where I have been able to unload the goods. One such place was a little bay on edge of Jamaica, it is little known to most sailors and the British Navy seems to be more interested in maintaining control of Port Royal. The locals here are a proud and admirably strong people open to trade. I have managed to strike a deal with them, I will protect the bay here from Naval influence and they will provide my ships with the bounties of this rich land. My comrade Captain Bedlam and I have set up small estates here as the place offers rich rewards to those who can keep peace with the locals. Since the earthquake in Tortuga has seen fit to topple my tower, I have taken to making this place my main place o' residence.
The leader here is one of the most honorable men I have yet to deal with in my short life. Where I would be more inclined to capture his small village I have seen first hand the defiant and extremely fierce combat skills of these people. Aye due to one o' my crewman's poor judgment he was killed quite instantly when he tried to round up some o' the women in the village for use by the crew. I had ta pay not only with the life o' me crewman but sent along a case o' guns and powder as apology to to the cheiftan.
Tho they stay in the mountains and keep to themselves, I have free reign of the bay here. Let no scallywag Navy try to set foot on these beaches, they shall have hell ta pay!
