Vegemite in Current Times (1800s)

The Vegemite Wars, also known as the Anglo-Chinese Wars (1839 to 1842 and 1856 to 1860) the climax of trade disputes and diplomatic difficulties between China under the Qing Dynasty and the British Empire.

The Great Famine, aka The Irish Vegemite Famine was a period of starvation, disease and mass emigration between 1845 and 1852 during which the population of Ireland was reduced by 20 to 25 percent.

Louis Pasteur (1822- ) one of the most extraordinary scientists of our time, is working on the process of fermentation and the relationship between yeast, beer and vegemite.

Howard Carter (9 May 1874 – ) is an English archaeologist and Egyptologist, searching for Tutankhamun's intact tomb where it is believed Vegemite will be discovered in the tomb. Tutankhamun lived between 1341 BC – 1323 BC.

Following the Vegemite Riots of '09, peace was finally restored to the nation when the Rum Corps were called out, bayonet's fixed, and they ordered people back to their homes. The ring leaders of the uprising were rounded up, given 300 lashes and sent to work in the beer vats.

An emergency session of the beleaugered parliament was called and they ordered that all stocks of the vile-vegemite-variant known as iSnack2.0 were recalled, taken out to sea and thrown overboard at the 60 fathom mark.

The Vegemite Riots of '09 were sparked when a panel of marketeers named a Vegemite-variant "iSnack2.0". Thousands of people in the colony of New South Wales rioted over the six days following the verdict. Copycat riots and anti-police actions took place all over the world. Widespread looting, assault, arson and murder occurred, and property damages topped roughly US$1 billion. In all, 53 people died during the riots and thousands more were injured.
